I’m Ava, a student at Claremont McKenna College. This summer, I embarked on a journey to explore the relationship between religion and identity in young queer Catholics. I traveled to Madrid, Barcelona, Dublin, Lisbon, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. After visiting these places, researching these subjects, and interviewing people around the world, I’ve created this website. It includes a short film, a podcast episode, some of my research, interview snapshots, and photos. Ultimately, it is a rich portrait of my travels, exploring the pain, joy, and confusion of being a queer Catholic in different areas.
